After leaving her New York City/Long Island practice, Ms. Scheuermann established an extensive residential and commercial real estate practice in the Capital Region, as well as increasing her small business , employment and small estate and wills practice.
As a real estate attorney Ms. Scheuermann has over 35 year of experience representing clients in real estate matters ranging from the purchase of single family homes to large real estate developments, office buildings, commercial leasing and complicated title issues.
Barbara Scheuermann's business practice consists of asset and stock purchases and sales of businesses; formation of new entities; shareholder and operating agreements; buy/sell agreements; leases; employer handbooks; contract drafting, review and negotiation; business succession plans; and general business matters.
Ms, Scheuermann also represents individuals with their needs respecting small estate planning and the drafting of wills, "Medicaid Trusts", powers of attorney, health care declarations and living wills.
Above all, Barbara has a few guiding principles in representing ANY CLIENT: (1) be responsive to clients through calls, texts and/or email (make sure the client is informed and "in the loop" at all times); (2) treat clients with respect and answer all questions timely and completely so that the client feels secure in their representation; (3) treat other members of the "team" (opposing counsel, brokers, landlords, tenants, etc.) with respect and responsiveness in order to move the transaction along and get the best and most seamless result for her client(s); and (4) if it is in her client's best interest, work diligently to find creative solutions to problems which may arise during the course of a transaction.
Each client is treated as if they were a member of the family and given 150% representation no matter how small or how large their transaction is because Barbara understands that each transaction is large and important to each of her clients from the single family first-time home buyer, to the Grandma and Grandpa or new parents wanting to make wills to take care of their assets and family, or large companies needing business counsel and everything in between.
